Deposit forms
Guideline for Depositing Cultures at Mae Fah Luang University Culture Collection (MFLUCC) and Issue the Codes
1. Process to deposit culture and receive MFLUCC code
2. Preparation of the culture (tubes and plates)
2.1. Six (6) preparation should be provided, as follows:
- Two (2) with glycerol (15%)
- Two (2) with water
- Two (2) with PDA/MEA (or any other media, depending on the fungal species
requirements)
- Note: ONLY screw-cap tubes should be used
- Two (2) small plates (the same media used to grow when the photos of the cultures
were taken)
- Label the tubes and plates as per the template in the file “MFLUCC label. pptx.”
Marc “W” for water tubes, “G” for glycerol tubes.
- Add at least ten (10) mycelium plugs in each water and glycerol tube, as shown in the
figure below.
- Seal the tubes and plates with at least three (3) rounds.

3.1. Download the Excel form from:

3.2. Fill in the general information
3.3. Insert the photo from the culture (Upper and down faces)
3.4. Species identification morphological descriptions, photoplate, and phylogenetic tree
Remarks 1:
1. New taxonomic taxae.g.,a new genus and new species, must be checked by a taxonomist,
who will approve the proposed name
2. Morphological descriptions and phylogenetic trees should be approved by the advisors
and specialists
Remark 2: When sending the request, send the forms and annex with the approval of the
advisor/supervisor or supervisor
